5 Ducklings

It's always a relief when we have a successful hatch!
28 days is a long time and the anticipation of 27 1st graders is pretty intense.
Thankfully we have 5. Two were delivered via c-section. One performed by Molly and the other by my parent helper who previously was a biology teacher.

Spring Break

Here's a recap of our Spring Break which is quickly coming to an end.
Zeek's sister, Debbie came to visit.
We spent a few days at Valley Center playing.....

target shooting.....
Quad riding.....
sitting by the campfire making s'mores.....
jumping......
the girls loved messing with Kenny "Princess" and Josh "Turbo".....
All good things come to an end.
We got plenty of snow the second week of Spring Break and had friends come to play in the snow. Jonas couldn't get enough.

Look at that smile!
Tias kept sinking in "this deep snow."
Shari is an expert sledder.
Molly zips down the hill.
It's been a great time off, but is went way too fast.

Snow Days!

We've had snow the last two weekends. Here are pictures of some of the fun and work we've had. I just want to say how thankful we are for the snowblower. How did we ever make it without it?

More Sea Life

Today we saw more dolphin but they were a different kind called Risso Dolphin. They have a flat nose almost like a Pilot Whale. They're very graceful and fun to watch but they're not as playful as the Bottlenose Dolphin. The water was completely flat, like a lake almost the whole time we were there.
On the crossing back over we saw three whales. We think they were Grey Whales. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures.

What we love about Catalina

This is our current view from the deck in Catalina.
The little specks in the ocean are dolphin.
We went out to get a closer look. They were all over the place.
I have a new respect for photographers who get perfect pictures. It isn't easy!
I snapped a few that I'm happy with. It's so fun to watch them and listen to them chatter.

Rainy Day Fun

What do you do when you're literally trapped inside on a rainy day?
The girls and I wanted to try glass etching. Yesterday we got all the supplies while we were down the hill, so we had everything we needed to keep us busy on this wet day. We are pleased with the outcome and have some handmade Christmas gifts.
