Rainy Day Fun

What do you do when you're literally trapped inside on a rainy day?
The girls and I wanted to try glass etching. Yesterday we got all the supplies while we were down the hill, so we had everything we needed to keep us busy on this wet day. We are pleased with the outcome and have some handmade Christmas gifts.

It's Raining It's Pouring

We're cozy and dry but it's flooding all around us.
This is the creek at the top of our street that is normally dry. It's raging now. The picture doesn't do it justice.
That is solid mud against these cars. It's probably 4 feet or higher on the this side.
This mud is going across the main road right next to the fire station.
Somehow this jeep made it across.
It's supposed to continue to rain through tomorrow. We'll see what happens then. Don't know how much more the creeks can hold.

Thankful

Molly got this great idea to make a "Tree of Thanks." She got some twigs, put them in a vase, cut out leaves and set them in a bowl for people to write things they're thankful for. Then you can hang your leaf on the tree. I think she's started a new tradition.
As you may recall from last year I was accused of "Wrecking Thanksgiving" because I failed to bring a "sausage ring" for Thanksgiving breakfast. Well I'm here to tell you that there will be no such accusation this year. The "Sausage Turkey" is cooked and ready to go.

Halloween

The girls decided to be "Halloween Fairies" for Halloween, however they didn't really dress up or Trick-or-Treat on Halloween. They did dress up for a party at Girl Scouts and for the school's Family Reading Night at Barnes & Noble. However they lost interest in Halloween by the time it arrived on Sunday.
To make a long story short.... we went to a church Halloween party on Friday night and when we went to leave our car had been broken into, the window shattered and my iPod that was on it's last leg stolen. Zeek was out of town and so we had to deal with it on our own. The girls really missed the comfort of their Daddy! The good news is they didn't see my purse that was in the back seat! phew!! So I guess eventually I'll be getting that iPod Touch that I've had my eye on! :)

Lobster Opener!

The boys had a successful hunt!
They were in the water at 12:01 and reached their limit quickly.
Zeek said, "It was all we hoped it would be, AND MORE!"
They'll be heading back in the water again tomorrow.
