We've had snow the last two weekends. Here are pictures of some of the fun and work we've had. I just want to say how thankful we are for the snowblower. How did we ever make it without it?
Today we saw more dolphin but they were a different kind called Risso Dolphin. They have a flat nose almost like a Pilot Whale. They're very graceful and fun to watch but they're not as playful as the Bottlenose Dolphin. The water was completely flat, like a lake almost the whole time we were there.
On the crossing back over we saw three whales. We think they were Grey Whales. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures.
What do you do when you're literally trapped inside on a rainy day?
The girls and I wanted to try glass etching. Yesterday we got all the supplies while we were down the hill, so we had everything we needed to keep us busy on this wet day. We are pleased with the outcome and have some handmade Christmas gifts.
Molly got this great idea to make a "Tree of Thanks." She got some twigs, put them in a vase, cut out leaves and set them in a bowl for people to write things they're thankful for. Then you can hang your leaf on the tree. I think she's started a new tradition.
As you may recall from last year I was accused of "Wrecking Thanksgiving" because I failed to bring a "sausage ring" for Thanksgiving breakfast. Well I'm here to tell you that there will be no such accusation this year. The "Sausage Turkey" is cooked and ready to go.
The girls decided to be "Halloween Fairies" for Halloween, however they didn't really dress up or Trick-or-Treat on Halloween. They did dress up for a party at Girl Scouts and for the school's Family Reading Night at Barnes & Noble. However they lost interest in Halloween by the time it arrived on Sunday.
To make a long story short.... we went to a church Halloween party on Friday night and when we went to leave our car had been broken into, the window shattered and my iPod that was on it's last leg stolen. Zeek was out of town and so we had to deal with it on our own. The girls really missed the comfort of their Daddy! The good news is they didn't see my purse that was in the back seat! phew!! So I guess eventually I'll be getting that iPod Touch that I've had my eye on! :)
