The girls made gifts, crowns and cookies to honor Zeek for Father's Day.

Then we took him out to lunch at BJ's, his favorite place to go.

We really do have the worlds greatest Dad!

Bugs

Every once in a while Pioneer Woman has a photo assignment on her blog. This time it was "Bugs." I put this first picture in the contest, got a couple comments, but that was it. There were some amazing pictures of bugs.

The Creek

These are the beautiful mountains that we get to call HOME!

School is out and we had friends come up and join us at the creek a couple times this week. We couldn't ask for nicer days!

How Much Fun is This?

Zeek and I won a limo night in a raffle a few weeks ago. We let the girls join us for a short trip to pick up our friends, the Burns, before we dropped them back off at home for the night.

We stopped at the General Store for them to grab a soda for the ride.

They said "This is the coolest thing We've ever done!"

Bob and Debbie joined us.

Next stop..... Ian and Adeana join the fun!

And we're off to Kobe Steakhouse in Rancho Mirage.

Our chef was fantastic with a great sense of humor.

It was an absolutely perfect night with delicious food, lots of laughs and great friends.

Shari's 5th Grade Promotion

How did this happen? Wasn't it just yesterday we dropped her off at kindergarten? Shari has been reminding us all week that it's her last week of elementary school, counting down for us each day. She's definitely ready to be in middle school. She's even getting the attitude that comes with the territory.

She's done a great job in elementary school and we're very proud of her! Keep up the good work Shari-Boo!

Poor Dog

The girls discovered a bleeding sore on Ginger Monday afternoon. Long story short, we made a trip to the vet and she has been bitten by something venomous, perhaps a Brown Recluse, Black Widow or Scorpion. They kept her overnight, put in a drain and are waiting for the venom to stop killing the tissue. She's home now, but we go back Thursday to see if they need to go back in to cut away the dead tissue. So say a prayer for our little "fat dog" please. We're worried about her.
